Aryna Sabalenka
Sabalenka was born in Minsk, the capital of Belarus. Sergey Sabalenka (d. 2019) is her father, a hockey player. Aryna Sabalenka hails from Belarus and was born May 5th 1998. Her career has seen her win twelve WTA singles titles, which includes an Grand Slam in the Australian Open of 2023. As a doubles specialist, she also has won the US Open of 2019 as and the Australian Open of 2021 with Elise Mertens. She also achieved her Sunshine Double in 2019, taking her the WTA 1000 at Indian Wells, Miami and the Australian Open alongside Elise Mertens. Just four pairs of women's tennis have achieved this feat. The Belarusian rose from second place to third on the World Singles Rankings on 23 August 2021. Her highest rank was again achieved in January of 2023. When she played doubles, she managed to push her way to the top during February of that same year after the victory in Melbourne becoming thus the second tennis player from Belarus to make it in this specialty. Dmitry Tursunov coached her between 2018 and the end of 2019 and also a part of early 2020. Dieter Kindlmann coached her briefly from August 2020 to September. Antonio Dubrov, her fellow countryman, has been coaching her since the year 2020. Her top idols include Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova.
